Right2Hope Launches Free Cancer Treatment Search Platform to Help Patients Explore Investigational Therapies
Nonprofit resource helps advanced cancer patients and oncologists find experimental treatments to explore via expanded access and Right to Try
DALLAS, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- For patients with advanced cancer who have exhausted standard treatment options, the hardest question is often: What else is out there?
Today, nonprofit Right2Hope launched www.right2hope.org, a free online platform that helps patients, families, and oncologists identify investigational cancer therapies worth exploring when approved treatments fail and a suitable clinical trial isn't possible. Covering more than 60 cancer types, it simplifies a search that has traditionally been hard to navigate.
"When patients are told they have exhausted their standard treatment options, they shouldn't also face searching an unfamiliar world of experimental medicines on their own," said Vlad Bogin, MD, co-founder and chairman of Right2Hope. "We created Right2Hope to help patients and their physicians ask informed questions about what might still be worth exploring."
Making Treatment Information Accessible
Information on investigational drugs is scattered across registries, publications, and industry pipelines. Right2Hope bridges this gap, letting patients and caregivers explore possibilities relevant to their diagnosis and bring them to their oncologist for evaluation through pathways such as:
- Expanded access (compassionate use): lets certain patients with serious or life-threatening conditions receive investigational medicines outside clinical trials, subject to regulatory requirements and the developer's agreement.
- Right to Try: a separate federal pathway that may allow eligible patients to seek certain investigational drugs outside clinical trials, subject to statutory requirements and manufacturer willingness.
Neither pathway guarantees access, and a therapy identified through Right2Hope may not be available through either.
Information Shouldn't Depend on Location
Patients at major academic centers often hear more about emerging therapies than those treated locally. Right2Hope believes every patient should be able to learn about investigational options regardless of location or resources. The free platform supports, rather than replaces, the patient–oncologist relationship.
"Being told no standard options remain is not the same as knowing every investigational possibility has been explored," Bogin added. "We can't promise an experimental therapy will be available or help, but patients deserve a clearer way to understand what questions they can still ask."
A Starting Point, Not a Treatment Recommendation
Right2Hope does not prescribe, recommend treatments, determine eligibility, arrange access, or replace medical advice. Any therapy identified must be evaluated by the patient's oncologist; access depends on eligibility, availability, manufacturer agreement, and regulatory and ethical requirements. Investigational therapies have not been established as safe and effective by the U.S. FDA for the proposed use and may carry serious or unknown risks.
