Rio Tinto Alcan makes the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal accessible to everyone through free outdoor programs and family activities
MONTREAL, June 2, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Rio Tinto Alcan is co-presenting the 36th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal from 26 June to 5 July 2015 and is once again proud to help make the event accessible to everyone through the free outdoor program and family activities.

It is important that the festival can be enjoyed by all, which is why Rio Tinto Alcan's support has a special focus on families and providing programs and activities for children of all ages."
As part of the presentation of the free outdoor concerts, Rio Tinto Alcan is also presenting this year's Grand Opening Concert, featuring the band Beirut on Friday, 26 June at 9:30 p.m. at the Place des Festivals.
The Club Famille Rio Tinto Alcan is also back for a second year. This venue, located on l'Esplanade de la Place des Arts includes a picnic area, an animation centre and a kid-friendly lounge.
Families can once again look forward to enjoying the Parc Musical Rio Tinto Alcan and the Petit Ecole du Jazz at the Complexe Desjardins, where children will have access to games, face painting and crafts in addition to other educational activities involving music.
As part of its educational mission, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, in addition to Rio Tinto Alcan, is supporting the Hooked on School Project with Samajam. Through this program, free percussion lessons are offered to students from underprivileged areas of Montreal schools, helping reduce the absenteeism rate and promote stay-in-school initiatives.
Rio Tinto Alcan's support also allows the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal to be one of the largest North American events with carbon neutral status through gold standard compensatory credits from Planetaire.
