River Splash Dash 5K To Include Three Events In One

DETROIT, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Development Centers is pleased to announce that their second annual River Splash Dash, a lively summer 5K Fun-Run, is set to take place on Saturday, July 12th at Rivard Plaza along the scenic Detroit RiverWalk.

The festivities will kick-off at 9:00 am and will offer a 5K Run, a 1-Mile Walk as well as a short course Kiddie Dash to the Finish Line. There will be runner awards, a drawing for prizes and much more.

All proceeds will benefit early childhood development programs for disadvantaged children residing in metro-Detroit.

The course layout for the 5K Run features spectacular views along the scenic Detroit River as well as the unique urban-amenities of the Dequindre Cut.

The 1-Mile Walkers will be escorted by a tour-guide specialist from the Detroit Experience Factory, who will share their extensive knowledge of Detroit's 300 year history as the group strolls casually along the landscaped shoreline of one of North America's busiest waterways.

This year's celebrity Grand Marshal for the Kiddie Dash will be the beloved Detroit Tigers mascot PAWS.

The event promises to be a terrific, family friendly outing that everyone is sure to enjoy.
