River Splash Dash to Promote Early Child Development
DETROIT, June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Development Centers Inc, a leading provider of behavioral health services for over thirty years, has set its sights on advocating high-quality, early-learning enrichment programs which can dramatically benefit families residing in Detroit and neighboring Wayne County.
As a way to generate greater community awareness for the many innovative children's services that it presently offers, DCI has announced that it will soon be presenting their first ever 5K fun-run event, the River Splash Dash.
"Runners and walkers participating in the Splash will not only be engaging in a healthy-lifestyle activity, they will also be part of a movement to support young children and families in our community to become ready for school and life success," cited Debra Kade / Development Centers Director of Early Childhood and Family Services, "The event is being themed to ensure our message that we want every child to start out life on the right foot."
The Splash will offer a 5K Run, a 1-Mile Walk as well as a Kiddie Mad Dash. Awards and drawing prizes will be included among the festivities.
The lively summer friend-raiser is set to take place with a start time of 9:00 a.m. on August 4th at Rivard Plaza, located at the very heart of the dynamic Detroit RiverWalk that now embraces the historic Detroit River. It's a terrific, family friendly venue that everyone is sure to enjoy.
All proceeds will benefit early learning development programs for children, newborn infants to age five.
