Rob Gerds Joins Grey West as Managing Director

NEW YORK, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Heekin, Chairman and CEO of Grey Group, today announced that Rob Gerds has joined Grey as Managing Director of Grey West, which includes operations in San Francisco and Los Angeles, effective immediately.  He will report to Brad Fogel, President of Grey West and Grey Atlanta.

Key Appointments in 2010

Gerds' arrival marks another key appointment in 2010 to enhance Grey's leadership team in the U.S.:  Brad Fogel was promoted to President Grey West and Grey Atlanta in May; Sam Hosokawa was elevated to Managing Director of Grey Atlanta in May; and Mike Lewis joined Grey Atlanta as Creative Director in July.  Plans call for the recruitment of a Creative Director for Grey San Francisco in the coming months.

During an accomplished 25-year career in advertising, Rob Gerds has excelled at both large multinational agencies and powerful regional agencies. Gerds has served most recently as President, Director of Client Services at Matheson Gerds Advertising, Atlanta, since 2004.  Earlier, he spent six years at BaylessCronin, Atlanta, named one of Adweek's top creative shops, as Director of Account Service.  He has also held senior account management positions at McFarland & Drier, Miami; Hal Riney & Partners, San Francisco and FCB, Santa Ana, California.

He has contributed to the success of such blue-chip clients as Ford, Johnston & Murphy, Bell South, Pizza Hut, TBS, Mirage Resorts, Saturn and Mazda.
