Roche's Quinn Honored as 2010 HBA Rising Star

NUTLEY, N.J., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Roche Public Affairs Director Stacy Quinn of Belleville, N.J., will be honored as a 2010 Rising Star by the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) at the organization's annual awards luncheon on May 6, 2010 in New York City. 

"Stacy is dedicated to her craft, has an eye for detail and has earned the appreciation and respect of the management team, her peers and other colleagues within and outside the company. The HBA, based in Fairfield, NJ (www.hbanet.org), is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to furthering the advancement of women in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Its Rising Star Award recognizes women whose outstanding accomplishments make a difference in the industry. 

Quinn, who joined Roche in 2005 as a communications specialist and held increasingly responsible positions before being named Public Affairs director for Internal Communications in 2008, was instrumental in designing and implementing a comprehensive employee communications program for the 2009 Roche-Genentech merger that was recently lauded with a top award from the NJ Chapter of the International Association of Business Communications (IABC). She works closely with senior leaders, scientists and other key groups at Roche to develop and deliver internal communications programs that support business goals. From a weekly e-newsletter to management presentations, Quinn oversees the development, approval and distribution of internal messages, and is committed to fostering an environment of open, transparent communications.

Quinn came to Roche from American International Group (AIG), and also worked at Cendant Corporation and Casino Journal Publishing Group. She earned a B.A. in Communications, magna cum laude, from Rowan University, Glassboro, N.J.

The Rising Star recognition, she said, adds fuel to her passion for work. "Someone who is very close to me was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. It was devastating. I am very proud to work for a company that is dedicated to combat this and so many other diseases," she said. "In my job, I get to collaborate with all of the functions and departments on the Nutley campus, so I also feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful, talented group of professionals."
