HOUSTON, Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rock Energy Resources (OTCQB: RCKE) announced on its conference call for shareholders that they have discovered a deep sulphide intrusive deposit based on the aerial magnetometer survey and initial coring results taken over the past month. Initial results from deep core drilled down to a depth 2706 feet showed sections of gold, silver and platinum, along with sulphide mineralization through-out. The Company is now in the process of taking soil samples to determine future drilling locations for cores to depths of up to 10,000 feet throughout its property of more than 2,000 claimed acres.
Commenting on the discovery, Rocky Emery, Chairman and CEO stated, "Although we have not quantified the full potential of this deposit, we believe it to be one of the largest deposits in North America and potentially totaling millions of ounces each of gold, silver and platinum."
Mr. Emery also went on to say, "The platinum deposit makes our property very unique as one of only a handful of properties to have assayed results for both gold and platinum. We have been advised by our team of independent geologic experts that we could in fact be sitting on one of the largest deposits of gold and platinum in North America. We currently have mined more than 800 tons of this very high grade ore along with a few thousand pounds of high grade concentrate that have both gold and platinum ready for final processing and sales. We anticipate the refining and sales process will be in full swing within the next few weeks. We are rapidly achieving our goals in both areas of proving up our resource base and bringing our sales on line."
