Rocket Software Announces Rocket Data Virtualization Entitlement to Complement Release of New IBM® z13™ and z13s™ Mainframes
Non-production license of Rocket Data Virtualization Version 2.1 provides unrestricted development and test access for developers to access mainframe data.
WALTHAM, Mass., Feb. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Rocket Software, an IBM Business Partner, today announced that it will provide an entitlement to a non-production license of Rocket® Data Virtualization Version 2.1 (Rocket® DV) for every new IBM z13 and z13s system. Rocket DV is a powerful tool that gives developers the ability to move their applications and analytics closer to their data. Rocket DV fits perfectly in today's hybrid cloud environments and eliminates the need to move, replicate, or transform data.
Today's announcement delivers a non-production license of Rocket Data Virtualization Version 2.1 providing unrestricted development and test access for developers. With Rocket DV you can unlock mainframe data via modern APIs without z Systems programming skills. Rocket DV simplifies the administrative burden for applications that use mainframe data by providing real-time access with greater efficiency and security – critical requirements as businesses become more dependent on enterprise data for cloud, mobile, and analytics applications.
"New computing models and applications are fundamentally changing the way customers conduct business. Fast, efficient, and secure access to enterprise data is of paramount importance," said Bryan Smith, Vice President of R&D and Chief Technology Officer for Rocket Software. "Rocket DV helps developers break down the barriers that sit between business users and the enterprise data they need to be successful in this new business reality."
"In today's digital economy, companies need to quickly access data from different sources to gain real-time insights for running their business," said Mike Desens, Vice President and Business Line Executive for IBM z Systems. "As the system of record for many organizations, IBM z Systems holds valuable data, and Rocket Data Virtualization provides one way for mobile and cloud developers to easily and securely access this data to gain new insights and drive new applications."
Registration will be available on the IBM zDeveloper Community Hub beginning March 10, 2016.
