Rodney Ferguson Joins D.C. Office of Brunswick Group

WASHINGTON, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Brunswick Group LLC, an international strategic communications consultancy, announced today that Rodney Ferguson has joined the firm as a Partner in its Washington D.C. office. Mr. Ferguson, a former Managing Director and Principal of Lipman Hearne, brings more than 20 years of experience in journalism and communications and will assume his new position effective July 21, 2010. He will primarily focus on public affairs issues and developing communications strategy.

At Lipman Hearne, Mr. Ferguson provided strategic counsel to a wide range of clients, including The Brookings Institution, the U.S. Department of Education, RAND, Scholastic Inc., and the National Children's Medical Center. He is currently serving as an advisor on the board for the Education Writers Association and GuideStar, is an advisor on crisis communications to the American Council on Education, and is active in educating industry groups about new developments in education and non-profit communications.

Prior to joining Lipman Hearne, Mr. Ferguson worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a management consultant. Earlier in his career, he spent three years as a journalist in the D.C. bureaus of The Wall Street Journal and The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.

Mr. Ferguson has a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) from The Harvard Kennedy School and received his bachelor's degree in political science and history from Birmingham Southern College. He has also received a certificate in crisis management from the Harvard-M.I.T Program on Conflict Resolution.
