SYDNEY, May 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ROKT, the transaction marketing company, has named Craig Shotland its Managing Director (MD) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Shotland will report to ROKT's CEO Bruce Buchanan and join the company's executive committee.
"Craig is a seasoned executive with substantive experience in all aspects of online advertising and commerce," Buchanan said. "That background, as well as his involvement with many of the region's leading brands, will serve ROKT well as we step up our focus on growth across the broader APAC region."
In his role Shotland will oversee all commercial and operational activities in the APAC region, supporting business development efforts originating from ROKT's offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Singapore. He will also seek to grow the breadth and depth of the company's partnership network of e-commerce operators while increasing the number and type of marketers who can leverage ROKT's unique transaction marketing capabilities. In addition, Shotland will spearhead ROKT's expansion into North Asian markets.
"My entire career has involved helping brands create and build their digital presence and, then, advance their businesses by harnessing the power of the web," Shotland said. "Taking on the role of ROKT's MD in APAC is a logical professional progression. However, and more importantly, it's a team I could not be more excited to join. Smart people doing smart things in e-commerce represents enormous opportunity."
Shotland comes to ROKT from being part of the founding team of Netstarter, a multi-award-winning e-commerced agency based in Sydney where, as Managing Director, he led a team of more than 150 passionate e-commerce professionals. Areas of focus included digital strategy, performance marketing, e-commerce consulting and solution architecture. A key aspect of Shotland's role was the constant assessment of e-commerce trends in the APAC region and global market. He is someone equally comfortable addressing both business and technological issues.
Prior to that he was a consultant at Bearingpoint, the management consultancy that came out of the merger between Arthur Andersen and KPMG Consulting. While there he handled strategic business restructuring, process re-engineering, IT implementation and business intelligence projects. He began his career as a consultant at PwC working on a number of global e-commerce initiatives.
"ROKT has grown rapidly from a company serving a handful of brands from a single office in North Sydney to a global organization with a footprint that goes across four continents," Shotland said. "While it experienced that growth, ROKT has continued to build up its ability to serve additional companies in more and better ways. I am honored to be given the responsibility to advance that growth in APAC while contributing to ROKT's global expansion."
Shotland will be based in ROKT's Sydney office.
