Rollins Crummer Graduate School of Business to Graduate Florida's First Doctor of Business Administration Students from an AACSB-Accredited School
WINTER PARK, Fla., May 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rollins Crummer Graduate School of Business' Spring commencement will be held May 6, 2017, where the school's first-ever Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) graduates from their Executive Doctorate program will be recognized. In the fall of 2016, the Crummer Graduate School of Business became the first AACSB-accredited school in Florida to award this esteemed distinction.
The Crummer DBA degree is designed for executives who have earned a master's degree in business or related advanced degree. Each student works closely with a faculty advisor for the duration of the 3-year program, and the experience culminates with a year-long dissertation that addresses issues and challenges that apply directly to the executive's business interest. Executive Doctorate students meet one weekend per month (Friday and Saturday) on campus
The first two graduates from the EDBA program, Dr. Paul Kegel and Dr. Ash Shoeibi, received their degrees last fall and will officially walk at Crummer's spring commencement ceremony. Kegel is the founder of Kegel & Associates, a company that specializes in the interior planning and design of commercial, retail and institutional facilities. Kegel now plans to expand the services provided by his company and use 'design thinking' and individualized scientific research from his dissertation to analyze and understand an organization's unique DNA in order to improve work environments. Shoeibi sought out his Executive Doctorate at Crummer to connect doctoral-level research methods to practical, real-world application of business challenges. He has since led strategic insights and analytics at GolfNow, a part of NBCUniversal, where he applied the research from his dissertation to the company's consumer strategy. His Crummer experience helped elevate his career further by earning the job of Director, Global Analytics at Dell in Austin, TX.
Crummer's 2017 graduating class includes a total of 148 students from the school's MBA programs who have secured jobs at various top-tier companies including The Walt Disney Company, Darden, SunTrust, Lockheed, SAP and Siemens. Additionally, several graduates have started or plan to start their own businesses.

During the week of commencement, graduates take part in an MBA Oath ceremony where they sign a declaration that affirms their willingness to uphold the business ethics taught at Crummer. The Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society induction ceremony, an event to honor the newest inductees into the honorary business society, will be held on Friday, May 5.
Robert D. Finfrock, Jr., Chairman of FINFROCK, will deliver the 2017 commencement address to Crummer graduates. FINFROCK is a vertically integrated design-build company utilizing precast and pre-stressed concrete products for its structures. He is also the founder and owner of StructureWorks, LLC, a developer of 3D modeling, communication and electronic work instruction software for the precast and pre-stressed concrete industry. Mr. Finfrock has served on the Crummer School's Board of Overseers and Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship as well as having been inducted into the Rollins Hall of Fame in 2012.
