Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, Files Lawsuit Against Jesse White Tumbling Team, Inc.
Plaintiff, a Former Team Member, Left Paralyzed
CHICAGO, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, has filed a lawsuit in Cook County Court against The Jesse White Tumbling Team, Inc., for permanent injuries incurred by one of its tumblers during a Fourth of July parade in Wheeling, Ill., in 2008 (Case No. 2010 L 007728).
Jarvis Williams, 17 at the time, was executing a jump from a trampoline and landed on his neck and back on asphalt. The lawsuit claims that The Jesse White Tumbling Team did not provide a reasonably safe environment for the plaintiff to perform his tumbling activities by failing to properly supervise and train the safety individuals, and call for emergency medical services. They also improperly moved the plaintiff when they should have known he was seriously injured, placing him in the van with the other performers and transporting him back to the Team's office. As a result of their mistakes, Jarvis Williams sustained a severe and permanent spinal cord injury, resulting in permanent paralysis.
"This terrible and unfortunate accident has impacted both Jarvis and his entire family," said Antonio M. Romanucci, a partner in the law firm. "The Williams family has incurred numerous medical expenses to treat his injuries. Jarvis' potential earnings capacity in the career of his choice has also been severely impacted."
