ROMARCO DRILLS 115.3 METERS OF 3.4 G/T GOLD AT MILL ZONE AND 47.2 METERS OF 5.3 G/T GOLD BETWEEN SNAKE AND HORSESHOE

TORONTO, June 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (TSX: R) (the "Company") is pleased to provide an update of recent assay results from the on-going drill program at its 100%-owned Haile Gold Mine project in South Carolina.  The results continue to demonstrate the sustained growth and continuity of the mineralized system at Haile.  Highlighted holes from zones throughout the property include:

• DDH-372, an infill hole in Mill Zone (the higher grade portion of South Pit) encountered 115.3 meters of 3.4 g/t gold (including a 34.1-meter zone of 5.7 g/t gold) beginning 13.4 meters below the surface;
• DDH-396 encountered 53.7 meters of 3.7 g/t gold (including a 1.5-meter zone of 73.8 g/t gold) and 45.3 meters of 3.0 g/t gold between Ledbetter and South pits (including a 4.6-meter zone of 11.1 g/t gold);
• RCT-81 encountered 15.2 meters of 4.3 g/t gold in the western portion of Snake;
• RCT-46 located between Snake and Horseshoe encountered 32.0 meters of 3.1 g/t gold (including a 5.9-meter zone of 7.9 g/t gold) and 47.2 meters of 5.3 g/t gold (including a 5.0-meter zone of 8.4 g/t and a 15.2-meter zone of 11.3 g/t gold) approximately 33 meters west of RCT-19 (30.8 meters of 4.9 g/t gold - see September 7, 2010 press release);
• RC-1995, a step-out hole at Horseshoe, intersected 36.6 meters of 4.6 g/t gold (including a 3.0-meter zone of 28.9 g/t gold) and will extend a portion of the mineralization closer to the surface.

Step-out drilling is continuing to define several new prospective targets outside of the resource shell.  RC-1973 encountered 21.3 meters of 3.1 g/t gold (including 7.6 meters of 6.6 g/t gold) located over 450 meters north of the proposed South Pit and RCT-63 encountered 21.3 meters of 3.2 g/t gold (including 12.5 meters of 4.4 g/t gold) approximately 500 meters below the surface and 50 meters south of the proposed South Pit.  Additionally, deeper drill testing southwest of Snake has encountered mineralization at depths greater than any previous Haile drilling.  RCT-51, located over 360 meters northeast of RCT-63, identified multiple mineralized intervals including 44.2 meters of 1.2 g/t gold and 32.0 meters of 1.7 g/t gold, which were encountered between 580 to 745 meters below surface and below the southwest extent of the proposed Snake pit.  These results demonstrate the continuation of the Haile mineralized system well beyond the designed resource boundaries.  The deeper mineralization along the southern edge of the Haile system is very poorly constrained over a large area; yet, RCT-63 shows the grades can be sufficient for consideration of underground mining and the continuation of broad mineralized intercepts demonstrates potential for finding additional resources at depth.  Further drilling is planned around all new intercepts to better define the mineralization in these new target areas.

Exploration drilling north of Ledbetter has identified gold mineralization well beyond the known Haile resource.  RC-1943 encountered multiple zones of mineralization, including 16.8 meters of 3.5 g/t gold (including 4.6 meters of 9.4 g/t gold), located over 300 meters north from the currently proposed Ledbetter pit wall.  The mineralized intercepts begin at 290 meters below surface; slightly lower than the planned pit bottom and significantly shallower than previously projected northerly extensions of the Ledbetter ore body.  Additional drilling in the area encountered 12.2 meters of 3.7 g/t gold in RC-1972.  Assays are pending from follow-up holes around RC-1943 to begin determining the size and shape of this mineralization.

Sample Procedure

Drilling is being performed by Romarco's company owned drills (4 core, 1 reverse circulation), by Connors Drilling, and by Boart Longyear.  The drill samples are prepared and assayed by Alfred H. Knight Group (formerly Alaska Assay Laboratory).  Samples are prepared at their facility in Spartanburg, SC and assaying is completed in Fairbanks, AK.  Blank samples and third party standards are inserted at random for submittal with all of the drill samples.  The results of the control samples are within acceptable ranges.  Periodic duplicate and check samples are analyzed by ALS Chemex in Reno, NV.  For a full discussion of the Company's sampling, analysis, quality assurance, quality control, and other technical disclosure, please see the Company's National Instrument ("NI") 43-101 Feasibility Technical Report dated February 10, 2011 on SEDAR.
