Oct 13, 2010, 09:00 ET from ICAP Ocean Tomo

CHICAGO, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Ocean Tomo, the intellectual property brokerage division of ICAP plc (IAP.L) and the world's premiere patent auction firm, will auction off US patent 7,309,938 describing a rotary power converter at the upcoming Fall 2010 Live Auction in Napa, California on November 11th.

The rotary power converter presented by the patent in this lot overcomes existing problems facing traditional power converters by addressing modern demands for flexibility, efficiency, and the integration of various power system characteristics in a compact, lightweight, and power efficient apparatus. This improved design is comprised of a set of three or more permanent magnet rotors disposed upon a lightweight, non-magnetic hub that rotates within a stator configured to function as either a motor or a generator. This apparatus allows for increased energy efficiency and the coupling of plural generators to a single prime driver along a single drive shaft.

"Given the expected growth of power converter markets over the next five years, this asset should be considered a valuable addition to any patent portfolio," said ICAP Ocean Tomo's CEO Dean Becker.

The expected value for this lot is greater than $200,000. It can be purchased immediately through ICAP Ocean Tomo's Purchase Now feature for $650,000. To learn more about this patent and how to participate in ICAP Ocean Tomo's patent auction please contact Dean Becker at
