Royal Canadian Mint celebrates 25 years of the Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin by releasing a special anniversary edition
OTTAWA, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - After 25 years as a leading choice of precious metal investors world-wide, the Royal Canadian Mint's 1 oz. 99.99% pure Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin is being commemorated with a special edition bullion coin to celebrate its quarter century of success. Prized for its purity and liquidity as a frequently traded bullion coin, this new, special-edition Silver Maple Leaf is an unforgettable keepsake which also meets the exacting needs of experienced and new precious metal investors alike.
"The Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin is one of the pillars on which the Royal Canadian Mint has built a reputation for leading the bullion industry with coins that are second to none in their purity, quality and craftsmanship," said Ian E. Bennett, President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint. "The outstanding success of the Silver Maple Leaf over the last 25 years is a great source of pride for employees who produce one of the world's most popular bullion products and we are pleased to celebrate this accomplishment with a 25th anniversary edition."
The Mint's Ottawa facility is producing a limited mintage of one million 2013-dated, 25th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins. Composed of one troy ounce of 99.99% pure silver, the reverse of this new coin features the Walter Ott maple leaf design that has become the signature of the Mint's "Maple Leaf" family of bullion coins, over which the numerals "25" have been delicately interlaced. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, created in 2003 by Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt.
In keeping with a distribution model common to the world's major issuers
of bullion coins, the Mint does not sell bullion directly to the
public. Interested buyers are encouraged to contact a reputable
bullion dealer to order this special limited edition 25th anniversary Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin, which will be available as
of early December 2013.
