Rubenstein Public Relations Announces Dawn Rowan As New Vice President of Media Relations

NEW YORK, Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard Rubenstein, President of Rubenstein Public Relations (RPR), announced today that Dawn Rowan has been appointed as Vice President, Director of Media Relations. In this role, Rowan will spearhead the company's media relations division and facilitate strategic, high-impact  communications campaigns. She will leverage her twenty years of acquired media contacts in print, broadcast and online outlets to increase visibility for the agency's wide-ranging client roster.

Prior to joining RPR, Rowan served as the Director of Communications at NBC 4 New York.  During her five years at NBC, Rowan was responsible for overseeing the development and execution of all communications, public relations and media relations efforts for the flagship TV station, as well as for NBC's digital channel COZI TV, and LX.TV.  She also liaised with Telemundo 47, NBC's Spanish-language sister station.  Recently, Rowan managed the New York team for "Clear the Shelters," an NBC-sponsored national initiative that resulted in the successful adoption of thousands of shelter animals across the country in a single day and generated tens of millions of media impressions. 

Previously, Rowan was a Senior Vice President at Dan Klores Communications where she served a variety of clients including Foxwoods Resort Casino, The Trump Organization, The Humane Society of the United States, Destination Hotels & Resorts, and Universal Orlando. 

Rowan also ran her own company for two years; she launched Firebrand – a start-up, multi-platform network, and served as Senior Vice President/Group Head for M. Silver Associates, where she served international clients including Emirates Airlines, Jumeirah Hotels and the Taiwan Tourist Board.  As a Vice President at RLM, America Online was her primary client. Rowan's early public relations experience includes working at Rubenstein Associates servicing prestigious clients such as The Related Companies, BMW North America, and Riese Restaurants.

Rowan graduated from Barnard College with a B.A. in English.
