Runwell Partners with Legendary Runners Bart Yasso and Charlie Engle in Search of Inspirational Videos in Honor of National Recovery Month
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Runwell: The Linda Quirk Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports worldwide addiction treatment, launched an online, user-generated video contest today in celebration of National Recovery Month. The "Perspire 2 Inspire" video contest asks fans to upload inspirational stories of how they've personally helped to inspire others (or themselves) to lead a healthy, active lifestyle - it could be helping one person or a hundred people. Videos should be 60 seconds or less and uploaded to Runwell's Facebook page. Fans will vote for their favorite videos and the one with the most votes will win the Grand Prize (free race entry into any half marathon, marathon or triathlon in the U.S., plus airfare to that race and exclusive running gear). There will also be two runners-up that will also win significant prizes. Joining Runwell in this effort are legendary runners Bart Yasso and Charlie Engle, each accomplished athletes who continue to share their stories of recovery to encourage.
"I'm excited to be a part of Runwell's 'Perspire 2 Inspire' video contest," said ultramarathon runner and star of documentary "Running the Sahara," Charlie Engle. "National Recovery Month is about getting people to talk openly about recovery and that's exactly what this contest is asking people to do. Sure there's prizes, but if you're in recovery, you've already won in my book."
"Everyone has a story. In my work, I get to travel to races around the world and meet runners of all abilities...thousands of runners with amazing stories," said Running USA Hall of Champions inductee, and Runner's World Chief Running Officer, Bart Yasso. "So I'm happy to be part of the Runwell family and use this contest as a way to keep the dialogue going. I can't wait to hear the personal stories people have to share about how they 'perspire 2 inspire' and I wish everyone the best of luck."

How Runwell Works
Athletes who wish to represent Runwell do so by registering for a race on Runwell's website. Participants may also represent Runwell in an event not listed on the event calendar by choosing the "Event of Your Choice" option. Fundraising goals vary by event, and athletes typically seek sponsorship donations from friends and family as they train for their races. Runwell offers support including: personalized online donation pages, virtual coaching from former U.S. Olympic runner Keith Brantly, and nutritional advice and planning from U.S. Olympic Sports Dietician Bob Seebohar.
Runwell has partnered with almost twenty organized running events, from local 5Ks to ultra-marathons (including the ING New York City Marathon, Racing the Planet's 4 Desert series and the New York City Triathlon).
