
Rush Group and Faurecia Announce Joint Automotive Manufacturing Venture in Detroit
Detroit Manufacturing Systems LLC to launch with content on Ford Mustang and Expedition and Lincoln Navigator
DETROIT, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rush Group Ltd, LLC and Faurecia have announced the creation of Detroit Manufacturing Systems Ltd., LLC (DMS), a joint venture that will manufacture and assemble automotive interior components in the City of Detroit. DMS expects to employ about 500 people in Detroit within the next three years.
DMS has also announced that it will be providing cockpit interiors for the Ford Mustang and Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, making Ford Motor Company its first customer.
DMS is in the process of certification as a Native American Women Owned Business Enterprise (WMBE), run by Andra Rush, whose Rush Group family of companies has more than 25 years of experience as a supplier to automotive manufacturers.
The company's manufacturing and assembly operations will be based in the Gateway Industrial Center in Detroit, where about 500 jobs are expected within the next few years.
