CINCINNATI, July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- After a week marked by tragic events in Baton Rouge, St. Paul and Dallas, RushCard and Russell Simmons announced today the expansion of their partnership and support of The Peace Keepers. The company will also be partnering with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) to strengthen relationships between the community and law enforcement. Simmons will speak with NOBLE on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at their 40th Anniversary Annual Training Conference to address building stronger relationships between communities and the police, restoring community faith and trust in law enforcement and ways to reduce community deaths at the hands of law enforcement and eliminate violence towards law enforcement officers.
"My heart is broken for the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and the law enforcement officers in Dallas who senselessly lost their lives this week," said Russell Simmons, Co-founder of RushCard. "While I am saddened and outraged, I realize that throwing my hands up in frustration won't accomplish anything. RushCard is prepared to help finance The Peace Keepers and the valuable work Captain Dennis Muhammed is doing in communities throughout the country. I also look forward to partnering with NOBLE to bring law enforcement to the table to build bridges that will ultimately save lives."
"RushCard is dedicated to being a strong presence in our customers' communities," said Ron Hynes, CEO of RushCard. "We are proud to partner with The Peace Keepers and NOBLE, two organizations that do incredible work in communities throughout the country."
"This relationship with Russell Simmons and his planned appearance at our national conference in Washington, D.C. is a reflection and extension of our National President's recent role in a panel that Mr. Simmons convened last month in Los Angeles to address the needs for reform in the criminal justice system. NOBLE looks forward to working with RushCard and Russell Simmons to build bridges and strengthen communities throughout the country," said Dwayne Crawford, Executive Director of NOBLE.
