Today, the Company disclosed in its Current Report on Form 8-K that KPMG LLP ("KPMG") resigned as the Company's independent accounting firm. KPMG told the company that it had "inadequate management oversight" over financial reporting and "inadequate accounting resources." Advanced Emissions also stated it expects to have its shares delisted from the NASDAQ because it "does not believe that it can make the required financial filings and regain compliance."
On this news, shares of Advanced Emissions tumbled 46 percent to close at $10.61 per share.
