NEW YORK, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- One Screen (www.onescreen.org), a global short film festival created by The One Club, announced today that hip-hop legend RZA has joined the 2015 One Screen jury. Judges will review work in seven categories: mobile film (new this year), narrative, documentary, music video, animation, branded content and budget under $10,000.
Though known best as producer and leader of iconic rap group Wu-Tang Clan, RZA has a diverse set of interests that has manifested in numerous ventures, from apparel (Wu Wear) to acting/directing (Funny People, Man With the Iron Fists) to technology (Boombotix collaboration).
"We have a fantastic stable of directors, producers and other filmmakers judging the 2015 One Screen Film Festival, and RZA is the icing on the cake," said Jonathan Jirjis, One Screen Producer and One Club Video Producer. "In addition to being a musical virtuoso, RZA is an actor, director, innovator and an avid consumer of pop culture. He brings a wealth of expertise and a well-rounded perspective to the jury."
Other One Screen judges include Oscar-winning short film director Joachim Back; Stephanie Riggs, who produced the first ever feature film released in virtual reality via Oculus Rift; and previous One Screen Best of Show winner Martín Rosete, who is now directing feature films.
One Screen will announce this year's winners on February 4, 2015 during an awards ceremony and screening at the Sunshine Cinema in New York City.
