Saad Dinno Named PCCA's 2014 Pharmacist of the Year for Commitment to Excellence in the Compounding Pharmacy Industry

HOUSTON, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PCCA has named Saad Dinno, RPh, FIACP, FACA, co-owner of Acton Pharmacy, in Acton, MA, West Concord Pharmacy, in Concord, MA, and Keyes Drugs in Newton, MA, as its Dr. M. George Webber 2014 Compounding Pharmacist of the Year. The award, which is given annually to an independent pharmacist who has demonstrated service excellence to patients, healthcare providers and pharmacy colleagues, was presented to Dinno on October 10, 2014 by PCCA President Jim Smith and CEO David Sparks, during the company's International Seminar held in Houston, TX.

Dinno is a second generation pharmacist and co-owns his compounding/retail pharmacies, Acton Pharmacy and Keyes Drugs, and retail pharmacy West Concord Pharmacy, with his brother, Raied. The Dinnos and their staff members are passionate about providing high quality, individualized care to each customer. Saad is well known in the greater Boston area for his work with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and mitochondrial disease. Dinno is involved in various community organizations, including Emerson Hospital's "Care Transition Collaborative Committee," MitoAction,  and Eliot Community Health Services Human Rights Committee, and has also hosted State Representative and Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Health Jeffrey Sanchez and State Senator James Eldridge  at his pharmacy to help educate these members of the state legislature on compounding.

He has received numerous awards, including being named the Margaret Bauman Outstanding Medical Professional for his work serving the autism community. He was also previously named the Massachusetts Innovative Pharmacist of the Year and PCCA Pharmacist of the Month.

Dinno is a member and past president of the Massachusetts Independent Pharmacy Association, Massachusetts Pharmacist Association, National Community Pharmacist Association and International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. He previously served on the PCCA Advisory Board.
