Sage Analytics to Unveil New Luminary™ Profiler Marijuana Potency Measurement System at the Emerald Conference
Breakthrough system provides highly accurate, instantaneous potency measurements of cannabis plants and extracts in a cost-effective, portable unit
BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sage Analytics (www.sageanalytics.com), the developers of a new generation of equipment for the testing of marijuana potency and moisture content, announced today that they will be unveiling their new product, the Luminary™ Profiler, at the Emerald Conference in San Francisco.
The Sage Analytics Luminary™ Profiler is a highly accurate potency measurement system based on optical spectroscopy technology currently used at the top pharmaceutical companies and in other mature and developing industries. Because the Luminary offers high precision, and is portable and easy to operate, it is expected to improve the accessibility, quality and reliability of marijuana testing not previously available to the many players in the industry's eco-system, including growers, dispensaries, edibles manufacturers, and regulators.
The Emerald Conference examines the science of cannabis and how it affects labs, dispensaries, producers and policymakers. While multiple scientific disciplines will be discussed, the focus of this conference will be on analytical testing and the needs of the industry.
The cost, relevance, reproducibility, standardization, and applications of testing are at the forefront of the cannabis industry, and key to the industry's growth and cohesive maturation. Indeed, several recent news reports have suggested that current cannabis testing methods may produce inconsistent results that vary among labs.
Sage Analytics President, Matt Kaplan, said that he is eager to work with labs as well as other stakeholders in the cannabis industry, to provide them with this new generation of testing equipment that provides the flexibility to produce consistent, and accurate results. And since the Luminary is more affordable and easier to operate than traditional testing methods, labs will be able to increase their throughput at lower overhead costs.
"Our system provides instantaneous, repeatable results utilizing highly precise advanced light-based measurement that is the fastest and most convenient testing method available," Kaplan stated. "Until now, price and complexity have kept this technology beyond reach. We have developed a cost-effective and portable platform that makes this powerful technology accessible to everyone in the cannabis eco-sphere, and look forward to demonstrating it at the Emerald Conference as well as upon request."
The Emerald Conference will be held at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf on January 23, 2015.
