SAGE™ by Hughes™ Partners with Designing Spaces'® Military Makeover® Show on Lifetime® Television

Military Makeover aims to honor military veterans and their families by enlisting a team of experts to revamp spaces in their homes and improve the quality of living for these deserving veterans. In this segment, the show will be upgrading the home of Lance Corporal Devin H. Kyle and his wife and daughter. After joining the Marine Corps in 2012, Kyle left for Afghanistan just four months after the birth of his daughter. While on tour, Kyle was shot in the thigh by an enemy sniper, leaving him with a severe, life-threatening wound. After two years and several surgeries, Kyle has regained control over most of his leg, which still carries metal fragments that cannot be removed. Though Kyle suffers from PTSD from the near-death experience, his wife and daughter are his motivation to continue his recovery.

As part of the renovation to the Kyles' home, the SAGE Hub was installed, allowing them to monitor and control the fully connected system from their living room TV or SAGE mobile app; three outdoor and two indoor cameras to monitor who's coming and going; a deadbolt door lock that can be controlled remotely; a thermostat so that the Kyles can automate their home's temperature; 16 open/close sensors that can alert the family of activity; a lamp dimmer and smart LED light bulb for automated lighting control. This system will provide the family with many benefits, including:
