RUEIL-MALMAISON, France, November 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
As a smart city player, Sagemcom showcases in Vienna its field deployment projects as well as its recent technical realizations to help the Distribution Service Operators and the Retail Service Operators to make their networks and operations smarter.
Recent developments have allowed Sagemcom's product portfolio to address 3 wires/4 wires distribution networks using PLC technology, that can now be applied to any type of distribution network.
In the wireless space, Sagemcom is also proposing the latest cellular 2G/4G technologies in a native point-to-point configuration or to complement the PLC communication (Dual-Communication). Thanks to its capacities in 169Mz and Lora[TM] (as a founding member of LoRa Alliance) technologies, Sagemcom propose also an affordable and reliable radio solution for low power/throughput applications.
The architecture of Sagemcom solution allows managing the collection of data not only from electricity devices but also from Water, Gas and Heat meters. Where possible, such in Luxembourg, the electricity meter can act a hub to do such collection at the final customer metering point, avoiding the deployment of multiple communication networks. For a standalone non-powered meters, low power RF solution are used like 169 MHz for the 11 million Smart Gas meters of GrDF project in France.
Sagemcom is able to deploy End-to-End solutions from meters and sensors, though communication gateways and concentrators with associated Head-End System and up to data management system. These solutions are engineered from the start with high security features such as High Security Modules embedded in the Concentration devices and powerful encryption strategy for key distribution.
The End-to-End secured communication solution, can be used in different areas such as: Smart Metering, Street Lighting through Remote Relay Modules and Smart Grid to manage the simultaneous communication between sensors deployed over the Low Voltage and Medium Voltage. Sagemcom is ISO 27001 certified.
By choosing to use in-house manufacturing of its products, Sagemcom is able to propose cost optimized solutions and to guarantee time-to-market to its customers. The largest DSO in Europe already trust its know-how. Sagemcom is bringing this know-how to a new level by establishing in Dinan (France) its first state-of-the-art fully automated manufacturing plant.
Thanks to a real commitment in quality Sagemcom is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
Sagemcom has bagged recently key European Smart Metering deployment projects in Europe (Luxembourg, Spain, France, Serbia, Poland, Portugal,...) comforting its position as a leading one-stop provider for advanced End-to-End solutions using the most advanced communication standards. These wins position Sagemcom as the only player able to master Power Line Communication (PLC) technology using the 3 leading standards (PRIME, G3 and Meters & More), offering the flexibility to its customers to choose the right standard for its applications and network configuration.
"Thanks to an enlarged product portfolio to fit the different distribution network topologies, Sagemcom can address all the end-to-end multi-energies Secured Solutions, from Smart Meter to Smart Grid. Completed by a recognized R&D and industrial know-how, and its positioning in IoT, Sagemcom confirms its position as an EMEA leader of the smart city world," said Eric Rieul, Deputy CEO of Sagemcom Energy&Telecom.
