SAIC is presenting Sponsor of the Navy Air Force Half Marathon and Navy 5 Miler

MCLEAN, Va., April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAIC) announced today that it will be the presenting sponsor of the 2014 Navy-Air Force Half Marathon and Navy 5 Miler event scheduled for Sept. 14 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The Navy-Air Force Half Marathon and Navy 5 Miler is planned and organized by the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Warfighter & Family Readiness (WFR) program, which provides services that contribute to the retention, readiness, mental, physical, and emotional well-being of active duty personnel and Department of Defense (DoD) employees by providing a varied program of recreation, social and community support activities.

This is the first year SAIC has had the privilege to sponsor this event following seven years of support as part of its former parent company.

More than 7,000 participants are expected to register for both events, which begin and end at the Washington Monument. Among those participants, will be a strong contingent of SAIC employees and executives who will participate individually and on teams, dedicated to creating awareness for the important work of the WFR program. This is the third annual event for the Half Marathon and the 11th for the 5 Miler.
