SALEM, Mass., April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Rockett, owner of the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites (www.salemwaterfronthotel.com), is pleased to announce the hiring of Julia Nietes-Quinan as the hotel's new General Manager. Nietes-Quinan joins the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites team after more than twenty years of professional management experience at some of the nation's most prestigious hotels -- including 15 years with AAA's 5- Diamond Ritz-Carlton Hotel chain.
Raised in a rural town southeast of Mexico City, Nietes-Quinan is a graduate of Cetis No. 44 Turismo and received a degree of Tourism Business Administration.

During her 15 year tenure with the Ritz-Carlton in Boston, New Orleans and Atlanta – as well as South America - Nietes-Quinan served as Director of Operations, Assistant Rooms Executive and Front Office Manager. She was also part of the Opening Teams for Ritz-Carlton properties in Washington, D.C., Denver, Lake Tahoe and Cancun Mexico. Most recently, Nietes-Quinan served as Director of Rooms at Martha's Vineyard's Harbor View Hotel & Kelley House. Her prior experience was Director of Operations at the sole Relais & Chateaux hotel in Rhode Island – Castle Hill Inn in Newport.
Residing North of Boston, her professional accomplishments to date have included: management of a $26 million hotel renovation; successfully achieved AAA 5-Diamond and Mobil 5 Star rating for Ritz establishment in 12 months at the establishment; and achieved the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award in Mexico and the United States.
The Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites, opened in 2004, and is located at Pickering Wharf in Salem's Historic District. The hotel currently has 86 specious guest rooms and suites and close to 5,000 feet of conference space to meet the needs of social catering and conference clients. The hotel is a 6-time recipient of the Best of North Shore Hotel award; a two time recipient of the national publication, The Knot, Best of Weddings; as well as a the recipient of TripAdvisor' s Certificate of Excellence – three times.
