Sales of Pink Lemonade Flavored 5-hour ENERGY® to Support Living Beyond Breast Cancer

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Living Essentials, LLC (the distributor of 5-hour ENERGY® shots) will continue to support Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) for a second year through sales of a limited edition, specially marked pink lemonade flavor of 5-hour ENERGY® that will be on shelves starting this month.  In 2014, Living Essentials will donate five cents from the sale of every bottle of specially marked pink lemonade flavored 5-hour ENERGY® shots sold in the United States to this national nonprofit whose mission is to provide trusted information and a community of support to individuals affected by breast cancer, their families, caregivers and medical professionals.  The minimum guaranteed donation is $200,000.

In 2013, Living Essentials' contribution of $344,269.20 and the exposure provided as part of a national advertising campaign significantly impacted LBBC's ability to expand the scope of their services and provide thousands of individuals with free educational resources and support services.  Calls to LBBC's toll-free Helpline doubled from the previous year, and more than 41,000 Guides to Understanding Breast Cancer, publications that describe and provide insight on topics such as diagnosis, treatment, recovery or disease management, were distributed at no charge. In addition, over 200,000 people visited lbbc.org for information and to connect with others sharing their experiences.

This year, LBBC will continue to expand its webinar program, introduce community meetings to new cities in the United States and host specialized national conferences.  In addition, Breast Cancer: InFocus, a new series of specialized guides addressing the unique needs of special populations including men, the LGBTQ community and minorities managing chronic conditions in addition to breast cancer will be introduced.
