Salt Lake City CFOs Expect Hiring To Increase In Third Quarter
Survey Finds More Than Half of Companies Experiencing Recruiting Challenges
SALT LAKE CITY, June 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Professional-level hiring is expected to increase in the Salt Lake City area in the third quarter, according to the Salt Lake City Professional Employment Forecast from Robert Half. Ten percent of chief financial officers (CFOs) in the market anticipate adding new positions, up from 8 percent in the second quarter. Another 73 percent said they will hire for roles that open during the quarter.
Executives also are optimistic about their business prospects. Eight in 10 (81 percent) CFOs expressed confidence in their company's growth potential for the quarter, with 43 percent of respondents saying they are very confident.
The survey suggests, however, organizations looking to expand and add staff may face difficulties. More than half of CFOs surveyed, 52 percent, said it is at least somewhat challenging to find skilled candidates for professional-level positions today.
"As the unemployment rate in Utah continues to fall, candidates with specialized skills are in short supply," said Kristina Marinovich, district president for Robert Half in Salt Lake City. "Highly skilled professionals in accounting, finance and information technology are being hired quickly. In some instances, these individuals are finding a job within as little as a couple of weeks and receiving multiple offers during that time."
The Professional Employment Forecast was developed by Robert Half, the world's first and largest specialized staffing firm, and conducted by an independent research firm. The local results reflect a two-quarter rolling average based on interviews with 200 CFOs from a stratified random sample of companies in the Salt Lake City area with 20 or more employees.
