NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sam Dushey, the CEO of Shoppers World, a full-line discount department store chain, has today announced the brand's expansion plans into the Philadelphia market. The plan, which includes 5 new stores opening throughout the Philadelphia area within the next 18 months, aims to continue the discount brand's aggressive growth into new states and markets.
Sam Dushey has built the chain's footprint from 8 stores to 40 since taking the helm of the company in 2005. Dushey has stated that he plans to build the brand's network to 500 store locations. The chain's existing 40 department stores are spread across 11 states and generate over $250 million in annual revenue.
The planned stores will be the brand's first locations within the state of Pennsylvania, and will join the ranks of current Shoppers World locations in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia.
"We're very excited about bringing the Shoppers World signature experience into Philadelphia. The Philadelphia market mimics many of the great characteristics of the geographical areas that Shoppers World is already succeeding in," said Sam Dushey. "The addition of these five stores is just the beginning of our expansion plans into Pennsylvania," added Dushey.
