Sam's Club Set to Celebrate Expansion in Addison

ADDISON, Ill., Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sam's Club will offer an added selection of everyday essentials and new conveniences for shoppers in DuPage County when the expanded Sam's Club opens its doors in Addison on Thursday. Community leaders will join 190 Sam's Club associates to celebrate the official grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 9:30 a.m.

The newly expanded Addison Sam's Club – adding 40,000-square feet to the building originally opened in 1993 – will feature an expanded deli, bakery and produce department, including freshly prepared meals for members on-the-go, as well as all the essentials for weekend get-togethers.

Addison Mayer Larry Hartwig said the Addison Sam's Club expansion is something the residents have been awaiting.

New Expansion Brings Convenience, More Merchandise, Fuel Station

Conveniently located at 1006 Rohlwing Road, the Addison Sam's Club offers members extraordinary savings on quality merchandise, members-only services and benefits.

According to Addison Sam's Club manager Aaron Greene, approximately 40 new jobs were created with the expansion of the Addison Sam's Club and the club will employ 190 total associates.  

The Addison Sam's Club pharmacy, open to members and the public, features $4 and $10 generic prescriptions and savings on branded prescriptions.* The Sam's Club pharmacy will also offer an expanded menu of immunizations and Healthy Living Made Simple magazines to help members take charge of their health through preventive measures. The Addison Sam's Club offers a new digital one-hour photo center which can produce poster size prints, greeting cards and personalized photo gifts. The 12-pump fuel station, specifically for Sam's Club members, also offers the convenience of diesel fuel. Members will appreciate the connection center for cellular phones, tire and battery installation services, as well as 24-hour technical expert support for the latest technology for home and office, name-brand apparel, designer handbags and jewelry.

Members can shop with confidence because Sam's Club offers a 200 percent guarantee on all fresh produce and meats -- Sam's Club will refund double the Member's purchase price or refund the purchase price and replace the product. A 100 percent guarantee will be offered to all other customers.

Sam's Club Supports Community Organizations

As part of the commitment to give back to the communities it serves, Sam's Club associates from the Addison club will present grants totaling $19,000 to a number of community organizations.  The Addison Community Switchboard, representing the Addison Food Pantry, will be presented with an $11,500 grant.  

Sam's Club will also fight hunger in greater DuPage County by making regular product donations to Feeding America. Sam's Club locations across the country regularly donate perishable food items to area hunger relief agencies, helping fight hunger in their communities and reducing food waste.

Community leaders including Addison Mayor Larry Hartwig will join 190 Sam's Club associates to celebrate the official grand opening on Thursday, November 1 at 9:30 a.m. Congressman Joe Walsh and Illinois State Senator Carole Packnau will also attend the grand opening festivities. A representative of ISAVE (Illinois Supporting All Veterans Equally) will lead the presenting of the colors and sing the national anthem.
