Sam's Club Set to Celebrate Grand Opening in Elgin

ELGIN, Ill., Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- An expanded selection of everyday essentials and new conveniences awaits shoppers throughout Kane County when the new Sam's Club opens its doors in Elgin this week. Community leaders will join 190 Sam's Club associates to celebrate the official grand opening on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 8:30 a.m.

Conveniently located at 1000 S. Randall Road, the Elgin Sam's Club offers members extraordinary savings on quality merchandise, members-only services and benefits. The new Elgin location will be the 29^th Sam's Club location in Illinois, including more than 20 in the greater Chicago area and the first in the "City in the Suburbs." Approximately 190 new jobs were created in Elgin with the opening of the new Sam's Club.

New Club Brings Convenience, More Merchandise, Fuel Station
The new 140,000-square-foot Sam's Club debuts a pharmacy, open to members and the public, featuring $4 and $10 generic prescriptions and savings on branded prescriptions. The Sam's Club pharmacy will also offer free monthly health screenings and Healthy Living Made Simple magazines to help members take charge of their health through preventive measures.

The Elgin Sam's Club offers a new digital one-hour photo center which can produce poster size prints, greeting cards and personalized photo gifts. Sam's Club will also fight hunger in the Elgin area by making regular product donations to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, which serves approximately 36,000 people in Kane County. The program is part of a partnership between Sam's Club and Feeding America. Sam's Club locations across the country regularly donate perishable food items to area hunger relief agencies, helping fight hunger in their communities and reducing food waste.

In celebration of the opening, Sam's Club will sponsor the community-focused International Festival on Labor Day.
