Samson Resources Appoints Randy L. Limbacher as Chief Executive Officer and Director

TULSA, Okla., April 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Samson Resources Corporation ("Samson" or the "Company") today announced the appointment of Randy L. Limbacher as its new Chief Executive Officer and President, effective April 18, 2013. Mr. Limbacher will also join the Company's board of directors concurrent with his joining the Company. Mr. Limbacher most recently was with Rosetta Resources, Inc. ("Rosetta") where he served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President until February 26, 2013. 

Mr. Limbacher has 32 years of experience in the exploration and production business, both domestically and internationally. At Rosetta Resources, he led a dramatic reshaping of the business as it transitioned from a conventional exploration company to a leading developer of unconventional resources. These efforts led to record growth in production, reserves and shareholder value for Rosetta during Mr. Limbacher's leadership of the company.

Mr. Limbacher will be relocating to Tulsa where the company is headquartered.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Limbacher served as Chairman, Chief executive Officer and President of Rosetta Resources, Inc., from November 1, 2007 to February 26, 2013. 

Prior to joining Rosetta, Mr. Limbacher served as President, Exploration and Production – Americas for ConocoPhillips where he was responsible for all exploration and production activities in the Western Hemisphere. Mr. Limbacher joined ConocoPhillips as part of its April 2006 acquisition of Burlington Resources Inc., where he spent over 20 years. At Burlington, Mr. Limbacher held a series of positions of increasing responsibility, including his role at the time of the acquisition of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and as a director on the Board of Directors of Burlington.

Mr. Limbacher serves on the Board of Directors of CARBO Ceramics Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University.
