San Antonio Court Reporter Glyn Poage is Elected as a Director of the National Court Reporters Association
VIENNA, Va., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Glyn Poage has been elected to the office of Director of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), a 20,000-member association representing court reporters and providers of captioning and realtime transcription services for the legal, broadcasting, business, government, and educational communities throughout the United States (www.ncraonline.org). Mr. Poage is the official court reporter for Judge Martha Tanner in the 166th District Court of Bexar County, Texas.
In addition to holding the Registered Diplomate Reporter (RDR) and Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR) credentials, Mr. Poage is a Fellow of the Academy of Professional Reporters (FAPR), one of the stenographic court reporting profession's highest honors, a distinction he earned in 2009. In 2008, he was inducted into the Texas Court Reporters Association Hall of Fame.
Mr. Poage also has served previously as president of the Texas Court Reporters Association and holds his Texas Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) credential. His past volunteer work has included participation on numerous Texas Association committees and he likewise has served in numerous volunteer roles with NCRA that have included participation as an NCRA Chief Examiner and grader for NCRA certification examinations. He has also served on several committees for NCRA, including the Test Advisory Committee, the Item Writing Committee, and the Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
In 2004, Mr. Poage received the National Court Reporter Foundation's Santo J. Aurelio Altruism Award.
