City hosts solar energy-focused environmental event
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by the City of San Jose:
Event: This free, family-friendly event features environmentally focused tours and workshops; live music; food trucks; a 22-foot Earth Balloon; a community art canvas; the nation's only Green Vision Clean Energy Showcase; and an all electric vehicle display.

Where: Bright Green Day – San Jose City Hall Plaza, 200 East Santa Clara Street
San Jose Green Vision Clean Energy Showcase – Santa Clara Street between 4th and 5th Streets across from City Hall
Feature: 12:30 p.m. – City of San Jose and Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to present $350,000 in Community Energy Champions Grants to non-profit and local government agencies. The grants are awarded to recipients who support projects that educate the community about energy efficiency. Speakers include: San Jose Councilmember Sam Liccardo, District 3; Environmental Services Director John Stufflebean, City of San Jose; Government Relations Representative Karla Lomax, PG&E.

The Showcase is the country's first outdoor demonstration site of large scale, cutting-edge solar, wind, electric vehicle and energy efficiency technologies.
