San Jose Credit Union Urges People to Keep up Momentum of Bank Transfer Day
Credit Union Opened 54 Accounts November 5th
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- San Jose Credit Union opened 54 total accounts on Bank Transfer Day, including 30 new memberships, and the $130 million Credit Union is urging the community to keep up the momentum in choosing a credit union for personal finances.
"We want to make sure people don't treat Bank Transfer Day as a single event, but as a beginning," says Andrea Brewer, San Jose Credit Union president. "Any time is a good time to choose a member-focused, lower fee financial option, such as a credit union."
The Credit Union held special hours Saturday, November 5th in order to service the community and open new accounts. The day also included the "Be Free" Promotion kick-off event for the Credit Union's fee-free debit card. Each month during November and December, for every 10 debit card transactions, a member will receive an entry to win an iPad 2, or $500 cash (winner's choice). Brewer says that the Credit Union is back to business as usual, but is hoping Saturday's success is the start of something great.
"A credit union makes decisions with their members in mind and offers convenient online and ATM access," says Brewer. "We hope people have seen San Jose Credit Union as a great financial option and continue to join."
