Sanmina-SCI Modular Solutions Division Enters the Solid State Storage Market

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Viking Modular Solutions™, a division of Sanmina-SCI Corporation (Nasdaq: SANM), and leading manufacturer of innovative memory and flash solutions, today announced that it has selected SandForce™ Inc. high performance processors for its solid state drive (SSD) products. Viking Modular Solutions will add product based on SandForce technology to its extensive range of innovative solid state devices.

Additionally, Viking Modular Solutions will supply multiple form-factors, including 1.8-inch and innovative "non-HDD-like" solutions delivering significant value for space constrained and/or rugged applications. These SandForce-based Viking Modular Solutions SSDs are available for sample to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) today.
