BERLIN, December 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- SAPERION has been selected for inclusion in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management 2010. According to Pentadoc, this marks the third year in a row that Berlin-based SAPERION is the sole German ECM manufacturer in the Magic Quadrant. The ECM market exhibited modest growth of 4.8% in 2009. Weakness in the global economy is cited as the main reason for the relatively slow pace. According to Gartner, total global revenue for ECM software licenses and maintenance was $3.5 billion in 2009. Looking forward, Gartner projects the ECM market to growth by 10.1% per year until 2014.
The report concludes that over the past few years ECM providers have significantly expanded the range of features in their solutions. New features include better process control, improved user-friendliness, and a stronger focus on records management. Gartner's ECM analysis helps companies examine the international market and determine which providers are most capable of acting as an effective strategic partner. Gartner's analysis of ECM manufacturers evaluates product offerings, general strategies, and planned product launches and initiatives. Their analysis also takes a look at how manufacturers respond to changes in the marketplace and adapt to new requirements.
"It is always exciting to be included in the Magic Quadrant, especially as the only ECM representative from Germany. This reinforces our international presence and strength in the ECM market," according to Herbert Lorch, CEO of SAPERION. "Our new version has already proven its value, particularly in terms of usability. Highly functional developments will keep us in the running for next year as well."
