Savigent Software Releases Version 6.0 of its Manufacturing Operations Management Software Suite

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., May 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Savigent Software, Inc., the Bloomington-based company specializing in event-driven manufacturing operations management software, announced today the release of version 6.0 of the Savigent suite of products. With open connectivity to a wide variety of manufacturing assets and systems and the ability to distribute functionality as required, the Savigent software suite enables users to produce products more efficiently, effectively and economically.

Savigent Platform™ is the foundation of the suite, combining three powerful capabilities into one software product: a composite application development framework, a unifying service architecture and a managed execution environment. Version 6.0 of the suite delivers significant enhancements, including advanced administration features, improved developer and engineer usability, and enhanced reporting capabilities. Version 6.0 also provides performance updates to Savigent Workflow™, a controlled system for workflow automation, and Savigent Historian™, a context-aware process data historian.  

Version 6.0 of Savigent's software suite introduces the all-new Artifact Server, a server that – much like an "app store" – holds ready-to-deploy items that help promote cross-site best practices and re-use. System administrators can download and deploy ready-to-run applications that are maintained centrally. The Artifact Server allows users to move applications from development to qualification to production without the need to manually move files.

Infrastructure changes to Savigent Historian™ allow the software system to store terabytes of information online without degrading performance, which translates to faster query times.

Version 6.0 also offers enhanced reporting features, including new IM-SQL Query Support, a powerful query language that enables engineers easy access to the data in the system. This feature can be used to investigate complex relationships with manufacturing data and also enables web-based queries. Asynchronous queries will allow engineers to process queries in the background and cache the results, freeing them up to do other tasks when executing an advance query.
