Savtira Corporation Selects Juniper Networks to Power Software Streaming of Digital Media from the Cloud

TAMPA, Fla., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Savtira Corporation, a new provider of outsourced e-commerce solutions, today announced it has selected Juniper Networks to power streamed media and applications from the cloud for the Savtira e-commerce platform and Entertainment Distribution Network (EDN).

Savtira Corporation selected a portfolio of Juniper Networks® switching, routing and security products including Juniper Networks® EX Series Ethernet Switches, MX Series Routers and SRX Series Services Gateways® all running the Junos® operating system to deliver the scale, performance, agility and security needed to launch the Tampa Data Center with a 140 gigabyte fabric.  Due to the economics of Juniper’s massive backplane capabilities, along with the latest GPU blade server technology, Savtira is now able to deliver new and secure cloud-based applications and services to customers.

Businesses will now be able to use Savtira’s Carrier-Class Entertainment Distribution Network (EDN) to stream all digital media from the cloud to any device.  All types of software and digital media (business applications, games, music, movies, audio/ebooks) are available to consumers on a rental or subscription basis.  Not only is no download or installation necessary, but consumers will also have the ability to seamlessly switch between devices, pausing media on one device and resuming it on another as all data, state and configuration is stored within the cloud.
