Scali Rasmussen Bolsters Litigation Practice with Trial Attorney Jeffrey Erdman
In 20 Years, Erdman Has Yet To Lose a Trial as First Chair
LOS ANGELES, July 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Over the past two decades, Scali Rasmussen's newest Partner, Jeffrey Erdman, has never lost a case as first chair, which Erdman attributes to his effective pretrial strategies and keen ability to recognize a winning case.
"Lawyers tell clients they can win at trial just to charge hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees and costs—that's not who I am," says Erdman, whose litigation experience spans many areas of business, including the insurance, manufacturing and service industries as well as all variety of real estate disputes. "I will avoid taking unwinnable cases to trial because my priority is to protect and fight for the client's best interests and not mine or my firm's."
Erdman's practical and compassionate attitude stems from his modest beginnings in rural Washington state, where he helped his family make ends meet by picking strawberries and cucumbers in the fields and bucking hay during summer breaks. He became the first in his family to attend college, and from his success he raised his family out of poverty and then got heavily involved with a daunting list of causes and charities. Erdman received the State Bar President's Pro Bono Services Award in 2008, the Los Angeles LGBT Bar Association's Co-President's Award for Leadership in 2004, and the Mountains AIDS Foundation's Richard Taylor Leadership Award in 2001.
"As Scali Rasmussen expands from its roots as a boutique automotive law firm to a diverse and more broadly focused litigation firm, there is no greater testament to the strength of our team and our reputation than when you can bring aboard someone like Jeffrey," said firm Founder and Partner Christian Scali.
Erdman received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with honors from University of Washington in Seattle and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law.
