NEW YORK, March 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- New York-based think tank scenarioDNA has been working for more than a decade to help global brands and media companies better understand what audiences and consumers will be looking for in the future. Their work has relied heavily on training, intensive research and analysis. Over time the social web has transformed this process and, as a result, the company has developed an intuitive suite of applications that effectively break down the walls for predicting the future. The company will debut at SXSW a suite of CultureIntelligence web-based applications that have been developed out of their proven semiotic-driven methodology of Culture Mapping.
"Our best chance of seeing the future is having a confident grasp of the codes that tell us where perception is most likely to be," says Tim Stock, co-founder of scenarioDNA. "We developed our semiotic-driven apps to better guide a faster, more intuitive path of cultivating real intelligence."
The CultureIntelligence apps provide a multidimensional view as a three-part Java series that read and visualize cultural data across social media, as well as independent corpuses. Migrations is a 2D matrix that tracks the migration of cultures over time. Dimensions is a 3D graph that explores the varied meaning of words based on cultural context. Signals organizes shared imagery according to modes of expression. Each app reflects a facet of what real thought processes actually look like in the development of meaningful ideas and connections.
scenarioDNA collaborated with Amherst, MA-based Texifter using DiscoverText on the data analytics and Waltham, MA-based Advanced Visual Systems (AVS) using OpenViz software for the data visualization.
Applying cultural intelligence allows innovators to understand how meaning is changing, especially in regard to unique aspects of trust, authenticity and progress. It allows for better understanding of how certain features are being recast or modified or for engineering how an unexpected ingredient might come into play. And it lets us prospect the stories waiting to be told and know how technology can best be used to help people.
scenarioDNA co-founder, Tim Stock, will be talking about Culture Networks at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Sunday, March 11, 2012 in the Capital Ballroom at the Omni Downtown, 11:00AM-12:00PM. His talk demonstrates how to gain understanding of the virtual diaspora and its evolution. Attendees will see examples of the app in use.
