Schneider Electric Donates 1,000 Portable Solar-Powered Lanterns to Aid Harvey Recovery Efforts
- Water-resistant Mobiya LED and mobile charging devices enable up to 48 hours of lighting with one day of solar charge
- Lanterns to be provided to residents in Beaumont and surrounding areas without power
ANDOVER, Mass., Sept. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Schneider Electric today announced it has delivered 1,000 units of the company's Mobiya TS170 S LED lighting systems to the American Red Cross to support disaster recovery efforts in Beaumont, Texas and surrounding areas, as communities continue to grapple with the lack of electricity from the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey. As part of the Mobiya brand of portable lighting solutions, these water-resistant, multi-function solar lanterns provide up to 48 hours of lighting with one day of solar charge, while also enabling users to charge mobile devices.

The Mobiya portable LED lighting systems with accompanying solar panels will enable individuals in Beaumont who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey to conveniently light up surroundings and charge mobile devices no matter the location. With the universal charging cable, Mobiya lamps can also be charged by any USB port.
