Dog Man Dynamite, a new and interactive book that brings together the wildly imaginative worlds created by Dav Pilkey, launches on August 3, 2027 with a second title to follow in January 2028. Written and illustrated by Pilkey, each collectible 48-page action-packed adventure invites kids to experience their favorite characters in an immersive new way with original comics, games, puzzles, jokes, surprises, and exclusive sneak peeks from upcoming books. Each paperback edition will include a Dav Pilkey-designed retro 3-D glasses that brings the action to life. Featuring beloved characters and stories from the Dog Man, Captain Underpants, and Cat Kid Comic Club series, this hands-on innovative reading experience will keep kids engaged and turning the page.

This fall, Scholastic is inviting readers around the world to celebrate the milestone anniversary of Dog Man with unforgettable "Bark to School" celebration events across the U.S. Leading up to the November 3rd publication of Dog Man: A Sprinkle in Time, bookstores, libraries, and schools will bring kids and families together for special Dog Man festivities celebrating the joy of reading and creativity.
In November and December, Dav Pilkey will hit the road for a 10-city Epic Tour across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., with stops including Vancouver, British Columbia; London, England; Naperville, Illinois; Decatur, Georgia; St. Louis, Missouri; Houston, TX; Santa Cruz, CA; Morristown, New Jersey; Concord, New Hampshire; and Pilkey's hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Building on Pilkey's history of large-scale, sold-out events, the Epic Tour will transform each stop into an immersive Dog Man celebration, where kids and families can come dressed as their favorite book characters, meet Dog Man and Captain Underpants, and snap photos with the beloved costume characters. Following Dav Pilkey's interactive presentation, fans will also have the opportunity to meet Dav and take a photo with him.
There's even more to discover at each tour stop as attendees are invited to explore a variety of activity stations, including "Dav Pilkey's Drawing Wall," where kids can unleash their creativity by drawing their favorite characters and creating stories of their own. Inspired by one of the most enduring messages in the Dog Man books—the importance of "doing good"—attendees will also be encouraged to pay it forward by donating extra signed books to literacy organization partners, local libraries, and schools serving underserved communities. About Dav Pilkey
Dav Pilkey has created nearly 80 books for children and was awarded a Caldecott Honor for his picture book The Paperboy and a 2026 British Book Award for Best Illustrator. When Dav Pilkey was in second grade, he was diagnosed with dyslexia and what is now widely known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
