School Boy/Giant Little Man/Mad Love/Interscope Records Sign U.K. Newcomers Rixton

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Interscope Records, along with talent manager Scooter Braun and songwriter-producer Benny Blanco, are pleased to announce that they have signed British pop/rock/R&B band Rixton to School Boy/Giant Little Man/Mad Love/Interscope Records and will release the group's debut single, "Me and My Broken Heart" and the Me and My Broken Heart EP, on March 18^th. Hailing from Manchester, Rixton are Jake Roche, (vocals/rhythm guitar), Danny Wilkin (bass/keys), Charley Bagnall (lead guitar), and Lewi Morgan, (drums). Jake and Danny began writing together three years ago in Danny's parent's caravan. Two years later they were introduced to Charley through mutual friends and a year later stumbled upon Lewi in a back alley of a Manchester pub (playing pots and pans) and asked him to join the band. Inspired by the soulful pop sounds of Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars, Rixton offer up a wealth of addictive pop/rock/R&B built on their own brand of songwriting, instrumentation, and vocal harmonies. Rixton has steadily earned a large YouTube following from their reimagined covers, including Taylor Swift's "Trouble," Rita Ora's "How We Do (Party)," Chris Brown's "Don't Wake Me Up," and R. Kelly's "Ignition," eventually catching the ear of Scooter Braun. Their video for the track "Make Out," a guitar-driven, hook-laced party anthem, has racked up over one million YouTube views. Working with producer Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Maroon 5), Rixton introduce their engaging sound to American audiences with the sultry "Me and My Broken Heart," which premiered on JoJo Wright's show on KIIS FM in Los Angeles and has already been added to both KIIS FM and Z100 in New York and impacts radio on March 11^th. The band has shot a video for the track with Cameron Duddy, who has also directed clips for Bruno Mars, OneRepublic, and Grouplove.  Earlier this year, MTV selected Rixton as a 2014 "Artist To Watch" and will premiere "Me and My Broken Heart" worldwide on March 26^th beginning at 6 a.m. ET on air and online. Rixton will perform at the School Boy showcase at Banger's and the Vevo showcase at the Roku Streaming Lounge at SXSW on March 9^th and March 10^th respectively.
