Scott Brothers band together with celebrity friends to "Give Habitat a lift" on Giving Tuesday

ATLANTA, Nov. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A fitness popstar. A Grammy-award winning country music icon. An award-winning actress. And twin brothers who have built an empire in entertainment, construction and real estate, but who always make time to give back. Those are a few of the world-renowned celebrities who are lending their time, voices and energy to give Habitat for Humanity a lift this Giving Tuesday.

With the support of partners Lyft and Nissan, Habitat for Humanity is going all in on Giving Tuesday with a multi-part campaign across social media. In a series of short and engaging videos recorded in Los Angeles, Habitat Humanitarians Drew and Jonathan Scott—of HGTV's Property Brothers fame—give their celebrity friends a "lift" and have backseat conversations about the meaning of home and why they support Habitat for Humanity.

"The holidays have always been a time for us to slow down and reflect on what really matters," said Jonathan Scott. "When we think of home, it's about gathering with our family and friends. That's why it's so important to us this Giving Tuesday to give Habitat a lift, so more families in the U.S., Canada and around the world can achieve the dream of a home they call their own."

Viewers are asked to join the Scott Brothers and their friends in supporting Habitat by visiting habitat.org/givingtuesday.

The videos, which will be posted on Habitat's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages throughout the day on #GivingTuesday, will feature:

• Top-selling singer, dancer, actor and film and television producer Lance Bass of *NSYNC fame;
• Award-winning actress known for her roles in Dexter, Lucifer and George Lopez, Aimee Garcia;
• Comedian, talk show and podcast host Chris Hardwick, best known for The Wall on NBC and the Talking Dead podcast;
• Former professional boxer and Olympic gold medalist Sugar Ray Leonard;
• Fitness popstar Caleb Marshall, known as the Fitness Marshall to the millions who work out with his videos online;
• Grammy-award winning country music star LeAnn Rimes, who is currently starring in the Hallmark Channel's It's Christmas Eve; and
• Comedian, actor and writer J.B. Smoove, known for his role on Curb Your Enthusiasm and as a star of the upcoming Spider Man: Far From Home.

The videos will also feature homeowners in Nashville who built and purchased their homes through Habitat for Humanity. The homeowners talk about how Habitat helped them achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Nissan and Lyft are supporting the campaign through their social media channels and through direct communications with their customers. Nissan also provided the vehicles used in the video shoots. Additionally, thanks to the Nissan Challenge, contributions in November and December can help Habitat double its impact for people in need of decent shelter.

Last week Habitat for Humanity announced it has now helped more than 22 million people secure new or improved housing since its founding in 1976, with more than 8.7 million people served in the last year alone.

Directly following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday harnesses the power of social media to connect and encourage people around the world to give back to their communities during the holiday season. Supporters are invited to take action however they feel inspired to—through donations, volunteering, advocacy, acts of kindness and more.
