Scott Tucker Returns to Sebring to Prepare for 2012 Racing Season
MADISON, Wis., Feb. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- With the 60th Mobile 1 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida less than a month away, Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports are busy preparing to defend their 2011 American Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship. The team returns to Sebring International Raceway this week for its second test session of the year.
Tucker and team logged more than 1,300 miles during the first test as they prepared for one of the most grueling endurance races in the world. Despite the amount of laps, the team is back this week for even more.
"The 12 Hours of Sebring is a tough race," Tucker said. "This year, we will see another world-class collection of competitors and it will be a great event. We feel we are on the right track at this point but we are not taking any chances. We want to be prepared."
Tucker, from Leawood, Kan., enters the 2012 season as one of the most successful and prolific sports car racers in America. He is a regular on the American Le Mans Series Circuit, and competes in the Ferrari Challenge Series, IMSA GT3 Cup, Sports Car Club of America and Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Series.
Level 5 is preparing for the 60th annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida, where Tucker will be seeking his third straight victory in America's oldest endurance race. The American Le Mans Series season-opener, set for a 10:30 a.m. ET start on March 17, will also serve as the first race for the new FIA World Endurance Championship. It will be broadcast March 18 on ABC and shown live on ESPN3 or ALMS.com.
