ScreenBeam Mini2 Shatters Price, Performance, and Size Barriers for Wireless Display Technology

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Actiontec Electronics today introduced its new ScreenBeam Mini2 Wireless Display Receiver—a tiny HDMI adapter that gives people unlimited freedom to beam their screen—entertainment, apps, games, and more—from mobile devices to HD displays.

The new mini receiver takes many of the same features of Actiontec's award-winning, market leading ScreenBeam Pro platform, and squeezes them into a tiny form factor perfect for connecting to today's flat-screen TVs, and at a groundbreaking low price.

At just $39.99 MSRP in the US, ScreenBeam Mini2 redefines the wireless display category.

With ScreenBeam's wireless display technology, anyone can use their device of choice on their screen of choice, wherever they are. The tiny adapter—about the size of a pack of gum—travels easily and plugs into the HDMI port of an HDTV or projector, eliminating cable clutter and enabling people to enjoy their content on their screen of choice, when and where they want it.

Unlike popular media players that support just a handful of apps and streaming services, ScreenBeam Mini2 has no content limitations. Whatever you see on your device is instantly beamed to your HD display… a truly unlimited experience. Best of all, ScreenBeam Mini2 works with millions of devices that already support Intel WiDi and Miracast, including the latest generation of Windows phones.

Ingredients for the Best Wireless Display
Not all Wireless Display Receivers are created equally. Actiontec ScreenBeam products are the standard by which the leading laptop, tablet, and smartphone device manufactures validate their new products. Actiontec is the world's leading developer of wireless display equipment for Intel's WiDi experience.

"Delivering wireless display from your device to your TV and projector is a key part of Intel's vision of the No Wires PC and tablet.  Intel® WiDi is a performance leading Miracast based solution for this and has shipped on over 100M PCs and tablets to date," said Joe Van De Water, Director of Wireless Display Products, Intel Corp.  "We are pleased with the close collaboration we have had with Actiontec.  The Actiontec Screenbeam Mini2 has passed our highest level of wireless display usage testing."

ScreenBeam products deliver the best performance, reliability, and interoperability—period. ScreenBeam Mini2 continues this legacy of market leadership in wireless display, combining full dual-band 2.4 and 5GHz Wi-Fi and a full-performance media processor with a market-leading price.

"Wireless display is changing how consumers think about their TV. It's now a big screen for their mobile devices. The ability to view Internet movies and personal photo galleries, and even play games and browse the web, makes for a truly unlimited wireless display experience," said Dean Chang, CEO of Actiontec. "ScreenBeam Mini2 makes that experience available to everyone in a tiny and affordable device that still delivers the level of performance that industry leaders—like Intel—expect from Actiontec."
