NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Scripps Health, a recognized leader in health care excellence and innovation, has named DeVito/Verdi West to serve as its advertising agency for a fully integrated program, including branding, creative development and traditional and digital media campaigns.
Scripps Health, a $2.5 billion private, non-profit integrated health system, treats more than a half-million patients annually at its network of five acute-care hospital campuses, 23 outpatient clinics and home health services throughout the San Diego region. Scripps has been consistently named one of the best in the country by organizations such as U.S. News& World Report and Thomson Reuters.
DeVito/Verdi won the account following a three-month review that was narrowed to three agency finalists vying for the account. Billings were not disclosed.
The critically acclaimed New York advertising agency DeVito/Verdi opened DeVito/Verdi West in San Diego early last year to take advantage of the advertising opportunities on the West Coast.
"We've long been known as a great creative partner to retailers and national consumer brands, but we certainly have been gaining a reputation for our healthcare work lately. And this win is a testament to the breakthrough work we've done for healthcare companies and hospitals such as Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, North Shore/LIJ, Lenox Hill and Mount Sinai hospitals in New York, and Abington Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia," said Alan Brown, managing director of DeVito/Verdi West.
As the health system's agency, DeVito/Verdi will be responsible for creative development, including television, radio, print, online advertising, social media and other elements comprising a fully integrated advertising campaign.
"This is an incredibly dynamic time for health care and we believe it is the right time to re-introduce our trusted brand to the markets we serve," said Don Stanziano, vice president, marketing communications for Scripps Health. "We are transforming health care delivery, bringing new technologies such as proton therapy for cancer treatment, and building new facilities like the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, soon to be the leading heart center on the West Coast. We were impressed with DeVito/Verdi's work for other well-respected health care institutions and believe they are the right partner for us to tell the Scripps story."
"It appears that the DeVito/Verdi brand travels well to the West Coast," said Ellis Verdi, president of DeVito/Verdi. "Scripps Health is a tremendous opportunity for us, and we're excited to create some truly memorable work."
