Seabrook House: Business As Usual After Storm
Seabrook House Campuses Fully Operational After Hurricane Sandy
SEABROOK, N.J., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Despite Hurricane Sandy's devastation throughout the East, Seabrook House's main campus in Bridgeton, New Jersey and Seabrook West in Westfield, Pennsylvania have resumed normal business operations today.
"I am very happy to report that Seabrook House is 100 percent open, and continuing to provide excellent drug and alcohol treatment to our patients," said President Ed Diehl. "Our Facilities Manager Shelia Levine did a fantastic job working with the local Office of Emergency Management to make sure we were ready for the storm. Her team had a solid emergency plan in place to ensure the power stayed on and our patients and staff were safe."
According to Diehl, After Hurricane Irene, Seabrook House invested in additional generators that would be able to meet the power needs of the entire campus if the lines went down. Back-up generators allowed the facility to continue to operate without interruption during the height of the hurricane.
"As Hurricane Sandy has moved out of New Jersey, and the long cleanup process begins throughout the region, Seabrook House's call center, admissions team and clinical staff are standing by to accept patients," said Diehl.
"Seabrook House has the most dedicated employees," noted Diehl. "We had more than 75 staff, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support personnel sleep over for the last two days to provide continued treatment while ensuring the safety of our patients. I also wanted to thank our colleagues for their calls of concern during the storm and assure everyone that we made it through without incident."
All normal clinical operations at Seabrook House resumed today at 9 am, and normal business operations began at noon. Those interested in treatment services are urged to contact us at our 24 hour call center hotline at 800-761-7575.
